Coral Crush

I love this room... the combination of the white wicker beds with the gold leaf mirror and coral detailed bedlinen seems vaguely Caribbean to me.  It looks like a room that would belong in one of those beautiful old, white-washed plantation style homes with hurricane shutters adorning the exterior like eyelashes.  I can imagine lying on one of those plump beds, listening to waves crash on a nearby beach, while pretty linen curtains suck and billow in the sea breeze.  Pass me my espadrilles will you, I think I fancy a swim!

Here's a little fact about me:  I'm obsessed with coral, shells and starfish

When I was small, I wanted to be a mermaid and live on the bottom of the ocean in a salmon pink house with a pearl-encrusted front door and a seaweed garden.

I Could Live Here

Unearthing beautiful houses that I could cheerfully live in is one of my favourite pass times. The latest discovery is a gorgeous beach cottage located on Fire Island, New York (the name alone would have me moving there in a shot). I love that the interior is just a little bit rustic and imperfect... and according to the article in Country Living, the cottage is "tiny" (I think they need to visit my apartment to experience the true meaning of the word!). Isn't it heaven?

Winter Wishing

It is so unbearably bleak outside today - the insipid grey sky seems to have leeched the loveliness right out of the world..... as an antidote to my dreary mood, I decided I needed some beautiful beachy interiors to remind me that July is very nearly over and life will be worth living again. I so wish I could throw open my windows and let the sunburnt summer breezes fill every crack and crevice of our apartment.... what do you wish for?

Hook, Line & Sinker

As a natural progression from my previous post, my mind started wandering to what I like to call the 'American Shoreside Look' (it's like the love child of the Lake House and the Beach House...). Old, natural timber pieces combined with fishing rods, oars, vintage maps and splashes of aquamarine blue are positively essential if these lovely images are anything to go by. There is an air of genteel poverty that clearly (if not a little ironically) speaks of wealth beyond my wildest dreams... that chest of drawers above would be crammed with cashmere sweaters worth more than my car, you mark my words!
