My Frankie Feature

Quite incredibly, this month's issue of Frankie Magazine features an article I wrote about the death of my brother Justin when I was six years old... I have never had something personal published before and while it's wonderful to see my little article come to life in the pages of one of my favourite mags, I also feel strangely exposed and vulnerable.  After all, when we write from the heart about matters concerning our own experiences, there is nowhere to hide from ourselves...

But the experience was quite a cathartic one too... the ghosts have been finally laid to rest and only the beautiful spirit of my brother remains.

Ralph Lauren Inspired House

Horsey Heaven

Once in a while a house comes together almost of it's own accord... this is my last big project before the baby arrives and I have to say that it might just be my all time favourite!  It incorporates almost every single interior fetish I have ever had, from the navy blue walls and contrasting white shutters, to the horse prints and Ralph Lauren fabric wallpaper.  I loved working on it, loved styling it and loved photographing it.... this house has been one long lesson in happiness!

Keep Calm & Carry On They Say

Sadly I'm going through another incredibly busy time at work at the moment, hence the lack of posting. The house I'm working on goes out next week and is promising to be beautiful (if only I can get all the last minute details finalised!). I will then have LOTS of gorgeous pics to post but until then my lovelies, I just needed some tranquil spaces to help calm my frazzled mind!

Off-Beat Magic

I adore this interior for it's combination of unexpected elements. Not only is it quirky, unique and full of character but it's simple beauty is so uncontrived in a haphazard way. The eclectic choice of furniture, the whimsical styling, the subtle colour palette.... this is definitely my kind of space! Have a wonderful Friday everyone x

Sweet Surprise

I woke up this morning feeling a bit glum... it was raining (again), I was tired and all I wanted to do was spend the day lying in a park under the non-existent winter sun.... but then I opened up my blog and found that I'd won an award!!!!! My first EVER!

Just like finding Andre, I'm convinced that the universe will one day offer me up the perfect armchair... and just like Andre, I have been searching for it for a lifetime!

Bathroom Fancy

I have a confession to make.... despite my undying love of all things white, I have a secret love of patterned bathrooms. I suspect it has something to do with the wildy over-the-top pink bathroom that was in my grandmother Marnie's house growing up - complete with a plum coloured suction grip shower mat that I took great pleasure in removing and re-sticking on the walls. Whether it be wallpaper, blinds or tiles, a little bit of pattern is so decadent don't you think?

My Button Jar

Here is the most recent addition to my desk... a button jar!  My obsession with buttons is well documented on this blog - I love them - in all shapes and sizes, colours and finishes.... just looking at the jar is happiness!  Quirky little obsessions are my specialty x
