Found: My Perfect Home

If I could live in this beautiful little summer cottage with nothing but my laptop and a cat for company, I'd be happy!  A tiny, simple weatherboard home surrounded by trees and white painted floorboards... surely that's not too much to ask for :)

Pitter Patter

I have just found out today that an old friend of mine is expecting a baby... my heart is filled with so much happiness for her and I know that she's going to make an amazing mamma - I think these images might appeal to her x

Happy Colours

A blue teapot, a yellow chair, a little red stool, a teal cushion.... such gorgeous bursts of Spring colour against a beautiful backdrop of pristine whiteness.  I am always astounded by the power and impact of colour and how dramatically it can affect the look of an interior and inspire mood changes.   Just looking at these images makes me feel calm and happy.  I love the simplicity of the styling - it let's the colour do all the work.

Friday Thoughts

Life has been so busy lately that I have had nearly no time to either write my blog or look at all the wonderful and inspirational posts that others contribute... it makes me sad.  When the world around us picks up pace it can be difficult to hold onto the little things that bring us joy.... So on this beautiful Friday morning I wanted to start the day by reminding myself what it felt like to swing really, really high with the wind in your face and a song in your heart.  HAPPY FRIDAY everyone :)

Divinely Dishy

Sometimes when I come across a really outstanding interior I get this weird buzzy feeling... kind of like all the little inspiration bees have been let out of their jar and are going nuts!  This renovated Victorian terrace house in London got the bees in a right state let me assure you!  I love everything about it, particularly the charcoal and mustard colour scheme.... it's so spectacularly bold and handsome.

Swedish + Vintage = Ang in Love!

Yes, I know.... I'm completely obsessed with Swedish design (two people asked me if I was Swedish yesterday and I so badly wanted to say yes!).  I adored these images from Vintage By Fe - I particularly love the scarves (I'm a scarf girl from way back so these ones really appealed).  A little joyful window shopping for a Sunday afternoon :)

Weekend To Do List

This past week for me has felt like one continual, frantic dash from sun-up Monday til sun-down Friday... I have been operating on a system of to-do-lists to do to-do-lists - such a busy bee!  So finally the week has drawn to a close and my thoughts are permitted to rest on more pleasurable things... here is a wish list of all the things I would love to do this weekend:

1. Hold hands with a boy (let's put the least attainable item at the very top!)

2. Ride a bike (at least this is within the realm of possibility)

3. Paint my nails different shades of pastel (strangely attracted to this idea)

4. Ride a ferris wheel (...... possibly while holding hands with a boy?)

5. Walk a dog in the sun (don't own one but will borrow....)

6. Hug a friend (easiest thing on my list - may do several times over for good measure!!!)

7. Turn my bedroom into a fairy wonderland of light, love and peace

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE X

Lulu Love on a Tuesday

I love it when you find an interior space that totally mirrors the character and style of it's inhabitant... The home of Lulu Guiness is a perfect example - her Victorian terrace is a vibrant mix of colour, quirkiness and charm that is exactly what I would have expected from the British designer.

Anne with an e

Having just spent the most tragically lovely Saturday night curled up on my sofa watching Anne of Green Gables, I felt I needed to share a bit of Anne Shirley with the world... I was 8 when this movie came out and I can still remember sitting on my grandmother's lounge room floor, eating Honey Snaps and forming a ridiculous crush on Gilbert Blythe.... I went through a stage of carrying around wads of paper and declaring to my family that I was writing my memoirs - I don't think I ever got past the first sentence, I was far too busy imitating Anne's intensely pensive facial expressions :)

Today I am filled with so much happiness for no particular reason whatsoever!  Maybe it's the glorious spring sunshine in Sydney that's filling up my heart?  Who knows and who cares... life is lovely isn't it?
