Andre and I have spent a lot of time of late fantasising about the type of home we would build if we were suddenly the beneficiaries of an enormous gift of cash... it would be a Cape Cod style with grey cladding and white windows, filled with beautiful white wooden detailing and a stunning staircase. Today I thought of one more thing to add to the wish list... a window seat! It would be a perfect spot for Daphne, our as yet imaginary British Blue cat, to curl up in the sun. What would you wish for?

Forgive my random collection of images below but I was just in the mood for musk pink typewriters, profound statements, baby elephants and cupcake propaganda today. Just looking at these images makes me all smiley and happy on the inside... what a lovely way to start the day!

I just love this interior (courtesy of Design Sponge).... and the little guy on the desk is kind of cute too! The sharp, clean lines of the home combined with the natural textures of the wood and stone really appeal to me. I could live here!

My lovely friend Lucy put me onto the great work of Mandy Lynn, a photographer and artist with an eye for old-time vintage fun. Check out her website and etsy store for a feast of gorgeous images that will make you want to simultaneously run through a paddock full of daisies at dusk and scavenge in a second-hand shop all day!

I recently stumbled across the whimsical world of sticker fun from Love Mae at the Sydney Life InStyle fair. I am forever in awe of other people's creativity, particularly when their work is so full of simple beauty and happiness. I think I might invest in some pretty fabric stickers to put on the front of my Macbook, just like the second photo..... life really was meant to be this fun!

I do love a white chair (...surprise, surprise!). It's one of the easiest ways to add subtle impact to a room, particularly if you choose a design classic like the Saarinen Tulip Chair (3rd image) or the Eames DAW Chair (4th image). Even an old painted wooden chair can add just the right amount of love and interest to a corner. Andre has some old and very much loved Thonet chairs making their way here in a container from South Africa..... I think there will be a tin of white paint awaiting their arrival!

If I had my way, I'd be living the life of India Hicks, surrounded by palm fronds and white wash. What I wouldn't give to be lying out on the grass, drinking ice tea and watching the clouds drift by in the sky above..... I want that life so badly I could weep!
