I'm an Alice in Wonderland fan from childhood and I just adore these necklaces from Bethtastic - they would make a very cool little gift don't you think?

Ooooo, I just came across these gorgeous book covers on Rachel Ashwell's blog and had to share them. I have MANY more at home that I will photograph and post for your enjoyment :)
I have a love/ hate relationship with this photo that I took a few months ago... I find it slightly depressing yet I'm continually drawn to it. I really love the depth and colour of the sky and how the crow stands out in contrast against the dramatic backdrop... but I must say, I do find him a little sinister and a little malevolent for my taste. I considered getting it enlarged and framed but thought I might spook myself out at night - I'm a child I know!
This photo sums me up in a nutshell..... it might be a bit old hat and not remotely hip and happening to admit, but I do love a good piece of sanded back furniture! The two little prints over the green chair make me sigh with longing - I want to run to the hardware shop, buy paint and sandpaper and start attacking anything wooden!

This vintage typewriter is up there with my best bargain finds of all time.... I talked the shop owner into giving it to me for $50 because of the crooked 'D' key - to this day I can't believe I pulled it off! I often wonder what stories it has produced in its long life. I hope so much that it was owned by someone wonderfully eccentric who smoked cigarettes through those funny, ornate cigarette holders and drank whiskey cocktails while tapping away into the wee hours of the morning...
One cold, rainy day this old suitcase came into my life and claimed me as it's own.... I found it at the Sydney Antique Centre amongst a whole pile of junk. It was supposed to be for a job but I couldn't part with it so I brought it home with me instead - it has become my 'Suitcase of Love', housing all the little bits of loveliness I find around the place.

I took these photos while on holiday in Nantucket.... For a girl who loves white paint and sea shells, you can imagine how much I adored every aspect of this island. From the understated beauty of the grey and white buildings to the relaxed grace of the local style, it is a tiny haven of coastal perfection. Sometimes if I close my eyes I can transport myself back there, riding a lemon yellow bike down a bumpy cobbled street, dodging huge white pots of fuchsia geraniums and feeling the warm sea breeze sweep over my sun-blushed cheeks.... ah, happy days kids x

The story I wrote for Home Beautiful came out this month and was featured on the front cover. The home is owned by the very talented Bree Oliver of Oliver Interiors. As you can see, she has a unique style that creates serious impact. Check out Bree's blog apaddingtonperspective.blogspot.com.
White floorboards seem to cast a strange spell over me. Because the concept of a white floor seems so ridiculous on so many levels (cleaning, maintenance etc), I often wonder whether you would have to be certifiably mad to ever have one. But the look...... my goodness!
