I am loving the recent trend towards using large, drum pendant lighting in residential interiors. The idea takes its cue from what has been seen on the commercial stage, and I think the look transfers well provided it's not overdone. I have selected a black pendant drum (similar to the one in the first image) to go above the island bench in a kitchen for a client in Northbridge. The cabinetry is a Mombassa Wenge veneer with a white stone bench top and flows into a lounge with charcoal feature walls and a travertine floor...... the project is still at build stage but I'm busting to see what it's going to look like! Will keep you posted :)
