Children's Vintage Art Idea

I was so smitten with the beautiful vintage-inspired artworks created by Sarah Barnett of Twice Designs that I decided to have a go myself (if you missed my Creative Little Soul interview with her, check it out here) .  I found some quirky vintage playing cards on ebay and then turned them into an artwork for my little boy's room.  The cards cost about $6 (AUS) and the white Ikea frame cost $39.95 (AUS).  It's not quite as good as Sarah's but I love the idea.

I'm not sure about the white backing board... I'm considering making it navy blue.  Any thoughts?

They look fantastic Angela. Personally I prefer the white background, as I think it shows off the lovely retro card colours so well. What a neat idea. I have some great old happy family cards that I've been sitting on for a while now. Thanks for some great inspiration. x

I think this looks adorable! I agree, you don't need to change the background. But, if you did...and this is just me (not a decorating guru) I would keep it light. Perhaps grey, or a paler blue? But, it's LOVELY as it is!!

It looks great Ang... if you were to alter anything then I wouldn't change the backing colour. Maybe put the colour that you choos over the white (looks slightly creamy)matting that sits inside the frame. This might make the gorgeous cards stand out. Just a thought if you did want to change anything xx
