Vintage Show & Tell

One of the most endearing things about my husband, is that he came into my life complete with vintage trunks full of old family heirlooms... its kind of like having an antique store hidden in my lounge room!

Today I opened a trunk and this is what I found...

1. SCISSORS

2. NAUGHTY PLAYING CARDS

3. LOVELY TRINKETS FROM ANDRE'S MOTHER'S LIFE

Do you have a favourite?

Oh, my, Ang, that's a funny post! Mmm, loving the scissors. And now you've reminded me that my Dad used to have a set of those 'naughty' cards when we were little! I'll have to hunt them out now ☺. J x

Lucky! Mine just came with a mother-in-law ... (just kidding) (maybe).

Well aren't you a lucky girl! What treasures! Your mother in law obviously has style. Funny how times have changed ~ the "risque" cards look so cute and tame ~ and yet that kind of makes them look more naughty at the same time.

It was lovely to find your delightful comment on my blog ~ and you have led me back to your own gorgeous blog in turn!

child, all those other gals can have those naughty playing cards - that beaded purse is to-die-for!

am presuming you plan to carry it to a soiree one of these days - it is just darling

funny story....found fab old pair of green-lensed sunglasses in my m-i-l's garage years ago...wore them all day, and raved about how delish they were! next day, those glasses were GONE, never to be seen again - my beautiful m-i-l passed quite suddenly five years ago, God rest her soul - she was a funny Italian beauty

all best from Ft Worth

What fun to delve into trunks with unknown contents! The old scissors would be my favourite.

They all look ah-mazing! I can't believe you have access to all this cool stuff so readily. I love the scissors, I'd love to have a pair like that sitting on my sewing room table, although I'd probably display them and not use them :)

My parents had a set of those cards. Thanks for jolting my memory. Must ask Mum if she still has them.
