Young Blood Finds

Today, my beautiful friend Amy and I went to check out the Young Blood Designer Market at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.  As expected, there were some wonderfully creative souls displaying their wares but there were two that really caught our eye:

1. Beautiful Butterflies

Amy spied these gorgeous ornamental wall hangings made from recycled saucers - they are the brain child of Cindy-Lee Davies of Lightly.  So nostalgic and whimsical... a lovely way to extend the life of beautiful china.

2. Vintage Notebooks

This may well be one of the best ideas I've seen in a long time... turning pre-loved books into usable notebooks, journals and diaries (each one contains a couple of the original pages to retain character).   The spines then get turned into bookmarks - genius!  Rebound Books are handmade in Melbourne and filled with 100% recycled paper.

Happy weekend.

I really wanted to go to this but was in a course this weekend. LOVE Rebound's notebooks - as an obsessive notebook collector who grew up wishing she was Anne Shirly, I must must MUST have the Anne of Green Gables one!
